Most Afghans cook from scratch, seldom using canned or prepared foods. Meats must be Halal certified for many. You can imagine how a new refugee might struggle to feed a family using a typical box of food from our local food bank. Help refugees feel welcome and secure by donating a box of foods that will be happily received and put to use.
Please return for a revised list of suggested food items to choose from that will help Afghan families feel welcome and adjust to their new lives.
